The goal I set when first elected is still the goal and vision I have today,” to expand and protect the Nez Perce Tribal land base”. We, as NiMiiPuu people, tirelessly work together – united to not only expand but protect our precious natural resources on our land. The land base we acquire today will provide “revenue for the generations behind us”. We, as a Tribe, need to increase economic development through leasing on and off the Nez Perce Tribal Reservation. There are limitless opportunities for land ventures out there, we need to be proactive and go for them.
While growing up, I was taught by my mother and many elder family members to hold the land sacred. Those of you have witnessed my dedication. Our land is the life blood of our people! I stand for “protecting” what our ancestor’s fought so hard for us to keep, the land and natural resources.
I will stand strong in protecting the treaties, sovereignty and natural resources for all of us and the generations’ to come.
Future accomplishments’ and goals I plan to work on should you re-elect me are:
Continue to build on the Nez Perce land base - Continue to build the Tribal Agricultural Center Program - Assisted the many tribal landowners with their land issues - Increase the Health Services to the Orofino and Kamiah people - Create a Planning Department & hire a Grant Writer
Create Internship for students in the Agricultural field – Plan for the budget cuts – Support tribal employment – Support Economic & Job Development for the tribe.
Accountability – Honesty – Knowledge of Federal Native Laws & Treaties – Protection of the Land – Knowledge of Sovereignty
