New Scholarship
Application Process
UPDATE
The Nez Perce Tribal
Higher Education Scholarship "Plan of Operation" is currently being
updated by the Nez Perce Tribal Executive Committee (NPTEC). An initial
transition plan has been approved to centralize all tribal higher
education scholarships under the Education Department Manager’s office.
This will create one Plan of Operation, including
application process, and administrative office to streamline the
scholarship process for Nez Perce Tribal Members. We appreciate your
patience during this transition and promise to remain steadfast in our
efforts to assist tribal students with scholarships.
MISSION
To maintain an educated, technological tribal society that allows our
tribal members the opportunities to succeed and thrive in any
opportunities they choose. To defend and maintain the sovereignty
of the Nez Perce Tribe.
"I wish all my children would learn more and
more everyday, so they can mingle with the white people and do business
with them as well as anybody else." Chief Joseph,
1904.
GOALS
Ensure adequate funding levels for students to meet rising costs of
attending college; refer information to students for support to meet
unmet financial needs; advocate to the Bureau of Indian Affairs for an
increase in overall funding to the Nez Perce Tribe.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Provide support services to enrolled
tribal members to obtain academic degrees. Each student will be
funded based upon their full time or part time status.
